Check all active processes on your system

If your PC is working slower than usual, it may be due to some unauthorized processes running in the background: a clear hint that there's something wrong with the system.

The first thing to do is to analyze all running processes with the maximum accuracy, which is precisely what you can do with Process Revealer. Unlike the standard Windows Task Manager, which renders a very basic list of active processes, Process Revealer generates a detailed list with all the currently active processes on your system, including hidden ones.

Each entry displays not only the name of the process itself and its complete path, but also the name of its developer and a short description. This data can help you identify suspicious processes on the computer and therefore detect possible attacks. Another nice tool is the possibility to end any given process and delete the correspondent file right away.

That said, the truth is that I've seen better process analyzers than Process Revealer. I like the fact that each entry shows its own icon – which makes them a lot easier to identify – but I can't help missing some extra features you find in other similar tools, like a link to extended information online or the amount of system resources used by the selected process.

With Process Revealer you get a detailed view of all currently active processes on your system, even the hidden ones.

PROS

  • Displays more information than the standard task manager
  • Uses icons to better identify processes
  • Supports hidden processes as well

CONS

  • No link to extended information
  • No information about resource usage
